A Special Message from Dana Bentzinger
Last night Brother McClelland '73 and I traveled north to Ames to meet with the Rush chair, Andrew, and the chapter president, Josh, to discuss the recruitment program at 7 pm. At 7:15 Josh called to say he was on his way after taking a test. At 7:25 Andrew called to say he was minutes away after an intramural soccer victory. At 7:30 we got underway. To summarize the chapter had 11 prospects stay at the house last weekend for Greek Getaway. Eighty-five men showed up along with 250 women making it the most successful Greek Getaway weekend ever. Our $1,000 donation to the Greek Alliance is paying off. Of the 11 prospects, 4 were given bids, 1 accepted on the spot, 2 more had to think about it and the final one, a legacy from Overland Park, KS will accept provided he comes to ISU. This week the rush team will be handing out 4 more bids. Here's the good news. The chapter now has 8 "A" level prospects and 11 "B" level prospects plus the 4 to-be-bid, which means they have a solid opportunity to reach their goal of 15 new pledges before the end of spring semester.
The Pig Roast is June 21st. It is open to all alumni.
Click here for the latest information regarding "Migration '08" to Boulder, CO. Check it out. The weekend is going to be LEGENDARY. Do be left behind.
Finally, the chapter received a letter from a Lil Sis who wants her son to be a Pike!!! Her husband is an AGR!!! It's too bad that the Lil Sis organization is dead.
This weekend is VEISHEA.
Jerry and I will be in Ames next Wednesday to see how the rush team is progressing.
In the bonds,
Dana Bentzinger '74
